In some ancient cultures, coriander was burned in rituals and medicinal practices to draw out its powers to strengthen the mind and body.  Those benefits are still used today, and today far more is known about everything that this essential oil can do.  The seeds of the coriander plant contain a multitude of nutritional compounds, healthy acids, and vitamins, fibers, and minerals that can be used to improve general health or to target the digestive or nervous systems, improve blood pressure, and promote overall wellness.*  This essential oil is commonly used to regulate digestive functions and reduce the risk of indigestion. It can also be used aromatically to promote feelings of calm and relieve tension and stress.  When applied topically, coriander can reduce feelings of pain and discomfort.  This oil can even be used as an aphrodisiac!


  • Take one or two drops in a veggie capsule to promote healthy digestive function*
  • Massage directly into muscles to reduce soreness

Directions for Use

  • Aromatic: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice.
  • Topical: Apply one to two drops to desired area; dilute with a carrier oil minimize the risk of irritation.
  • Internal: Dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid, or take several drops in a veggie capsule.

Coriander oil is highly concentrated, and users should exercise caution when applying internally or topically.  Coriander oil can induce vomiting or nausea when consumed in concentrated doses.  I may also irritate the skin if applied without use of a carrier oil.  If used as a pain relieving agent, users should note that coriander oil only reduces the symptoms of pain and does not heal the underlying issue causing it.
