Essential Oils For Sinus Pressure Relief

Today there are many essential oils for sinusitis that are available in drugstores, over the counter sprays, and even nasal pillows. Just about all of these will relieve the symptoms of sinus headaches and congestive heart failure. Just about all of them have been proven successful in clinical trials, but you should read the label carefully. Some essential oils just don't mix well together. Here are some considerations.

Let's start with Rosemary and Eucalyptus oil. If you're allergic to these, then maybe you shouldn't use them. While have not personally tried it, a friend who swear by the doTERRA allergy relief bomb for his constant runny nose and sneezing has also not tried it. It may be true that they have great skin; however, my nose has always felt better after applying rosemary oil. I'll give it a try sometime if you'd please.

A dab of peppermint might be just what you need to get your sinuses working again. Peppermint oil is one of the best essential oils for a cough or cold as it stimulates the respiratory system to help with inflammation. For those suffering from sinus headaches, a combination of peppermint oil and eucalyptus oil may provide relief. Most essential oils diffusers have an element of peppermint. This combination has been shown to be beneficial in treating sinus headaches. Simply mix one teaspoon with three to four ounces of water and breathe slowly as this will create a relaxing affect and bring relief quickly.

Lavender is another essential oil that you might want to consider using if you are suffering from a sinus infection. Some people combine lavender oil with sweet marjoram to create a homeopathic treatment for colds and sinus infections. If you use essential oils for sinus infections, then lavender will help relieve your congestion and therefore your discomfort.

Rosemary is one of the most powerful, yet easily accessible essential oils for a cough or cold. As a herbal remedy, rosemary works in much the same way as ginger, yet it does not cause as much irritation when applied directly to the skin. If you have a sore throat, simply add a couple drops to some vaporizer or microwave safe formula and inhale the steam for about 3 hours. You can also add rosemary to your bedding. Before bed, mix about three to four drops with warm water and drink this soothing liquid before going to sleep.

If you want to relieve a sinus headache, then use essential oils for sinusitis in combination with any of the other remedies I mention for the best results. Combine the herbal ingredients described above in a ziplock bag with calendula, sweet marjoram, lavender, and rosemary. You can also make a refreshing hot compress using honey, lemon balm or mint leaves. Heat the honey and lemon balm or mint leaves in a bowl and add a few drops of tea tree oil. Heat the mixture and inhale the steam for up to 20 minutes. You can also use a hot water bottle for this extra soothing effect.

Mountain Rose Herbs is a great choice to relieve sinus headaches and congestion as it contains mountain rose herbs which have strong antibacterial and antiviral properties. To prepare this blend, boil about a half cup of dried flowers in three cups of boiling water. Strain off the seeds and leave the mixture behind until it's cooled. Add about two teaspoons of dried flowers to one pint of hot water and steep the mixture for about five minutes. Drink the solution as it cools down.

Using essential oils for sinuses and pressure relief are an excellent way to get relief for your discomfort. If you want to be able to fully relax, you need to make sure that your mind and body are totally clear and free from tension. Try some of these suggestions, which you'll find useful. You might also want to consider other treatments such as aromatherapy, acupuncture, reflexology, natural supplements, and more. There's no doubt that these methods will help you find relief from your pressure relief problems.
