Using Essential Oils For Plantar Fasciitis

In spite of their popularity, many people do not understand the benefits of essential oils for plantar fasciitis (also known as heel spur syndrome). While there certainly is no single scientific study conducted on this subject, there's enough anecdotal evidence to suggest that they may actually be beneficial. For instance, German researchers revealed that interleukin-2, a protein produced by the body, causes abnormal inflammation in patients with plantar fasciitis. It is believed that interleukin-2 may also play a role in the development of heel spur syndrome. The protein is found naturally in the body and can be taken orally or intravenously. While most individuals are recommended to take it orally, there are some who might have symptoms that require injection.

The human body uses a variety of tissues in the various parts of the body. One of those tissues, the plantar fascia, lies between the bottom of the heel and the toes. This tissue, similar to cartilage in the rest of the body, absorbs shock and acts as a shock absorber. The tissue is not only important for shock absorption, but it also helps prevent damage to the tissue when walking or running. It can be damaged, however, if the individual engages in an activity that places excessive stress on the fascia.

Many individuals suffer from chronic symptoms of plantar fasciitis. They often use prescribed medications, such as steroids, which have limited effectiveness and can be very harmful over time. As well, prescription medications can cause unpleasant side effects, such as stomach pain or headaches. There are also several natural treatments available, many of which are effective at providing plantar fasciitis relief. These essential oils are very useful in providing relief and can help to improve circulation throughout the entire body.

One of the most popular essential oils that provides relief from the discomfort of plantar fasciitis is the eucalyptus essential oil. Eucalyptus is a common remedy used in Australia and is used in a variety of different homeopathic remedies. One of the main reasons that eucalyptus is so popular for this condition is that it contains anti-inflammatory properties. When inhaled, the anti-inflammatory component of this oil helps to reduce inflammation throughout the entire body.

Other essential oils that are effective for this condition include peppermint oil, ginger oil and clove oil. All three oils work together to provide pain relief and provide relief from the inflammation that is caused by this condition. Peppermint oil works particularly well when inhaled. When inhaled, it works to decrease inflammation in the lining of the feet and ankle. It also works to improve circulation throughout the body and to increase the elasticity of the tissues.

Ginger and clove oils are excellent at improving blood circulation. This allows for more oxygen and nutrients to reach the affected tissues. This promotes healing and helps to reduce pain and discomfort significantly. When there is good blood circulation in the area, many people find that the discomfort of plantar fasciitis decreases.

Finally, essential oils have been found to be particularly effective in relieving the pain that is associated with heel pain and other foot problems. Most often, these are called "nerve pain" because it is caused by the irritation and constriction of the tissue in the feet and ankles. Essential oils such as mustard oil and calendula oil work wonders at relieving this tissue tightness. They work by reducing inflammation, thus allowing the nerves in the area to heal.

With the proper combination of foot soaks, massage oil and essential oils, a person can experience great relief from this type of foot pain. Many times a combination of several of these treatments will produce the best results. The key is finding a treatment that you can use consistently so that your body can achieve maximum results. In order for a treatment to be effective, it must be used regularly. For plantar fasciitis to be treated effectively it must be used regularly.
