3 Ways to Kill Roaches Naturally

If you want to use essential oils for killing roaches, you have several choices. All of these essential oils have insect repellant qualities, however, it is important that you only apply these oils to an area that you know will be inhabited by a variety of roaches. To repel roaches effectively, the essential oils should be applied in such a way as to avoid spreading it on a large area. In cases where the choice is limited, you can apply one of the essential oils listed below to small areas. This will help to control your pest problem in a short amount of time.

The most effective essential oils for repel roaches include cedar oil, peppermint oil and lemon oil. The cedar oil is considered to be a good natural remedy for dealing with cockroaches because of its antifreeze like properties. If you are dealing with a large infestation, you should apply more than one type of oil to the affected area. Peppermint oil is another effective natural remedy for killing roaches. Apply the oil directly to the pest problem and let it stand for at least a few minutes prior to washing it off.

The citronella oil is a natural insect repellent that includes the essential oils of lemongrass, peppermint oil and cypress oil. These oils when used together can create a spray that is strong enough to drive away the pests. When the spray is released, the scent of the oil is noticeable and can keep the insects from returning. The odor of the cedarwood oil is very powerful and should not be underestimated. Roaches do not like the smell of the cedarwood oil.

Lemon oil also contains anti-microbial ingredients that are useful against roaches. Lemon oil not only acts as an effective insect repellent but also as an anti-inflammatory agent. This makes it useful in treating skin irritations such as acne and rashes. As an essential oils for killing cockroaches instantly, cedarwood oil, lemon oil and peppermint oil provide effective results.

If you would like to know how to kill roaches without having to use toxic chemicals, then mix boric acid with baking soda. These substances can produce an extremely toxic mixture which will easily kill roaches. But do note that mixing boric acid with powdered sugar would produce even more toxic fumes which may affect your respiratory system and may cause vomiting, dizziness, headaches and nausea.

Mix a solution of boric acid with water and apply the mixture to the areas that smell cockroach. Leave the mixture on for approximately 10 minutes before cleaning it off with hot water. The roaches will get irritated when they smell the odor and leave the area immediately to avoid being caught by surprise.

Sucrose or table sugar is another popular substance that is used to eliminate unwanted cockroach food. However, it does not smell so sweet nor does it provide an invigorating taste that the other ingredients may have. Therefore, one of the preferred ways to get rid of roaches is to put a little amount of sugar on a piece of cloth and place it in the area that you want to repel insects. Leaving the sugar on the cloth attracts roaches to the area and eventually the cloth will attract them even more due to the sweetness of the sugar. Roaches will eventually leave because of the sweetness.

In order to get rid of roaches using dryer sheets, mix a teaspoon of cinnamon powder with a quart of water and apply it on the sheet. Spread the mixture over the bedding where you want to get rid of all the critters. Leave it over night and the following morning vacuum it off. Using these three methods will help you kill roaches and ensure that they do not come back.
