Use Essential Oils For Herpes To Treat Herpes

There are a number of essential oils that can be used as homeopathic cures for herpes. They have been around since the times of the Egyptians and Romans. These oils have been used successfully to treat cold sores, herpes simplex virus, shingles, flu, athlete's foot, jock itch, bites and more. Many people prefer to use essential oils for local application because they are easy and a more affordable method of removing zits, pimples and other unsightly skin problems. It is perfectly safe to apply essential oils for local application.

The essential oils that can be used for this purpose range from peppermint and eucalyptus to tea tree and basil. Essential oils can be diluted with carrier oils such as sweet almond oil or coconut oil and applied topically. Essential oils work well as a natural antiviral, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal agent. There are a few things to keep in mind when using them for treating cold sores. Tea tree oil and eucalyptus oil will cause itching and redness at the site of the application but will not typically help the sore to heal. Both of these oils should not be used if the patient is experiencing extreme pain or bleeding.

Peppermint and eucalyptus are both wonderful oils for herpes treatment. Using essential oils directly on lesions or blisters can help reduce inflammation and ease the pain of blisters, ice packs and other treatments. They can also be used in dilute form to treat genital warts. Tea tree oil works very well on blisters and irritated areas but should not be applied to eyes, lips or mucous membranes. Allergic reactions to any of these oils should be immediately reported to the pharmacist or doctor.

Some essential oils have proven to be very effective in treating a variety of different herpes symptoms. Tannins and camphor are said to help with the itching associated with oral Herpes outbreaks. Basil has been used for centuries in Europe to help alleviate various respiratory problems, and its anti-inflammatory properties may help relieve some of the symptoms of Herpes. Rumatone Gold oil is an anti-viral oil that may also ease the effects of the rashes caused by Herpes.

Some of the most successful and most often used essential oils for Herpes treatment are lemon balm, tea tree oil, eucalyptus, thyme and basil. The usefulness of each specific oil varies from case to case. Lemon balm and tea tree oil are great for relieving inflammation while eucalyptus and thyme are said to help with the pain associated with cold sores. When applying any of these oils to a blister, it's important to be patient. While some people have seen quick relief after applying the essential oil of their choice, others have reported little change.

There are many essential oils that help with fever blisters, including grapefruit seed, sweet orange, avocado, and coconut oil. These are often combined with essential oils like lavender, chamomile and peppermint to produce soothing blends for cold sore outbreaks. In some cases, the combination of these essential oils will work faster than any of them on their own. If you're not sure how they'll affect your particular outbreak, test a small amount on a small area first.

To create a useful and tasty recipe for healing cold sores using these essential oils, simply combine the following ingredients: dried yellow dock, sweet marjoram, sweet cypress, cleavers lime, mountain laurel, sage, sweet orange, and sweet marjoram. Dried yellow dock is best when purchased in dry form, because it absorbs very well. Sweet marjoram should also be purchased in dry form, because it easily absorbs water. Cypress may be included in a recipe for healing sore blisters because it soothes the skin when applied topically.
