Using Essential Oils For Dust Mites

Finding the best essential oils to effectively kill dust mite dust is easy to discover and safe to apply! Essential oils have been used for centuries as a natural way to kill off any type of insects that may be detrimental to people or the environment. Essential oils are wonderful at killing off dust mite for several reasons.

First, essential oils are completely natural. You don't need a chemistry degree to figure out which ones to put on bedding or what type of inhaler to take if you have an allergy to something in the air. Second, they actually smell really good.

Some of the most common allergies include allergies to dust, mold, pollen, mold spores, smoke, cat dander, dust mite droppings, dust and even food allergies. If you've recently discovered that you have allergies to anything in the air or if you've always had allergies but have just recently started having problems with something in the house, then you can use essential oils to get rid of the allergies. Essential oils can be used to counteract allergies naturally or they can be used on top of other allergy remedies to help alleviate symptoms.

Most allergies involve some level of physical contact between the allergen and the skin. When this happens, the body senses the allergen and sends a message to the immune system to fight it. The reaction from the immune system leads to inflammation that makes it impossible for the body to be able to breathe properly. Essential oils can be used as a DIY essential oil remedy to kill dust mite on mattresses and bedding. The essential oils work together with the natural ingredients to not only sooth the skin but also to kill dust mite eggs.

Rosemary is one of the most common ingredients in anti-allergy remedies and essential oils. It is known for its healing, antibacterial and antifungal properties. It can be used to make a great number of different remedies including: Rosemary oil for wounds, rosemary for respiratory tract infections, rosemary for muscle spasms, rosemary for headaches and migraines and rosemary for skin irritations. Essential oils made from rosemary can be applied directly to cuts and sores to reduce pain and discomfort. After applying rosemary to the skin, it can be left overnight and washed off in the morning. Other uses include:

Lavender is another popular essential oils. Lavender is known for its calming properties and it is often found in bath salts, bubble baths and deodorant. It can be added to lotions and other personal care products for aromatherapy to help relieve allergies and promote well being. Other uses include: relieving stress and calming the nervous system, healing sunburns, promoting better sleep and healing rashes and burns.

Licorice has been a traditional herbal remedy and now is available in both natural and commercial forms. Licorice has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic properties, which makes it great for soothing skin reactions such as eczema, dermatitis, burns and bites. Use essential oils like lemongrass and lavender when you are having an allergic reaction. Other great ways to use licorice for allergies are in a tea, mixed with honey and ice or in a compress. If you are having problems with hay fever or asthma, try adding lemongrass and licorice to your diet for a few weeks to see if it helps.

Finally, there are essential oils that are ideal for treating allergies and protecting yourself from mold and mites. Bergamot (Bergamot Oil) and marjoram ( Meyer Oil) are both wonderful for this purpose. Bergamot is good for decreasing the production of histamines which cause sneezing and itching. Marjoram is good for reducing histamine by relaxing the airway muscles and airways. These drops can be applied to your bath water or directly to your skin to treat the symptoms of allergies and help you prevent future ones.
